First stop was Bells. I was able to snag the last lunch reso - def make one, def check it out! Everything was the bomb.
Sanford Winery - our amazing friends suggested we make a stop here and I will say this was the best winery i’ve been to hands down. It’s super low key but the wines are like nothing I’ve tasted before - incredibly clean and interesting. The chardonnay tasted like creme brûlée, it made my jaw drop.
Burger Pop-Up at Predite BBQ was recommended to us from the kind folks at Bells.Really tasty and perfect if you’re bouncing around from winery to winery.

I have been itching to get up to Los Alamos for quite sometime after hearing nothing but good things about its little food scene and neighboring town of Los Olivos. We encouraged our friends to join us on a little getaway, they obliged and we hit the road. It’s about an hour north of Santa Barbara (4ish hours from Palm Springs) but the drive is stunning and you get these beautiful little glimpses of the ocean along the way.
The Motel is situated on the top of a hill, set against the backdrop of the Santa Ynez Mountains and only a short distance from some of the best restaurants and shops we checked out. We found ourselves frequently saying, ‘are we in Italy or California?”. It felt out there, but not toooo far, if you know what I mean. The perfect distance to disconnect for a few days.
The pool takes center stage and is heated. Their restaurant, Norman’s serves up breakfast, lunch and dinner and was the perfect place to grab a late night bite and common area for us to meet for breakfast or catch up on emails. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the rooms couldn’t have been cozier with the little fireplace, outdoor seating area, and views of the property. It was quite windy when we were there but I was able to take the drone up one morning to catch some fun perspectives.
If you’re looking for a little getaway north of LA, I can’t recommend it enough and will definitely be returning this summer.
